Notes for Warren Addison BARNUM/Sophia Elizabeth MCABEE

The Marriage Records at Wrightstown state: "Warren Bauman (son of Ira & Ida Bauman) [sic] married Sophie Maccabee (daughter of Louis & Abegail Maccabee) on Feb 24th 1903." The record notes that the couple received a Dispensation from Mixed Religion and the ceremony was performed in the Rectory, rather than in the Church. As soon as they were wed, the young couple moved from Wisconsin to Idaho. That strenuous trip, of over 1,600 miles, was an adventure that relatively few people would have willingly undertaken in 1903.

From the Mankato Daily Free Press, Mankato, Minnesota, undated: The Free Press is in receipt of an exceedingly handsome wedding card conveying the information of the marriage of Warren A. Barnum to Miss Sophie E. McAbee. The ceremony occurred at the home of the bride's parents in Wrightstown, Wis., on the 24th of last month. The groom is the eldest son of our esteemed fellow townsman, I. A. Barnum, and is quite extensively engaged in the manufacture of lumber, operating mills both at Seattle and Priest River, Idaho. We extend our heartiest congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Barnum who will make their home at Priest River.
