A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
The Visitation of London for 1568 lists the children of Thomas Barnham and Alice Cressy as: first son Francis; second son Awstin; an unnamed "third son"; Margaret, married to Robert Combes of London; and Awdry, married to William Clebroke of London. These records for Thomas indicate the source for some subsequent genealogical confusion: (a) Thomas' brother Francis has sometimes been confused with or conflated with his son Francis; and (b) William Clebroke was married to Thomas' daughter, not to Francis' daughter. Francis Barnham (1516-1576) did not have any daughters.
