Their daughter Ann relates the following family history, as told to her by her parents. They met in Star Valley (Grover) Wyoming, became engaged and were traveling to Peoa, Utah to live with Henry's parents. They were married on their way to Peoa, in Malad, Idaho on 9 September 1918. The ceremony was performed later in the evening and for some reason it was apparently not recorded. When they returned to retrieve their certificate, on Feb 4, 1939, no record was found. So, they were married again. The second marriage is the one recorded in Malad.
As an aside, Star Valley was settled in the late 1870s by Mormon pioneers and Grover is one of numerous towns located in the valley.
