A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname

The wedding of Miss Grace Alden Barnum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Barnum of 88 Central Park West, and J. Malcolm Clark took place at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Saint Thomas's Church. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Ernest M. Stives before a large assembly.
The decorations of the church were elaborate. The pews along the middle aisle were marked by clusters of lillies tied with white ribbons. The pillars were hung with greens broken by clusters of lillies.
Just before the entrance of the bride the bridesmainds entered from the rear of the church, while the full-vested choir sang "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden," and walked down the center aisle to meet the bride, who walked up the nave on the arm of her father.
The bride wore a gown of white satin with a tunic of embroidered white net and point lace and a court train. Her tulle veil was surmounted by a coronet of orange blossoms.
Her attendants were Mrs. William S. Hilands and the Misses Amy Burrill, Gladys Tenney, Augusta WiteMary Booth, Vivian Peck, and Helen Moore of Washington, D. C. All wore gowns of pale pink chiffon, with sashes of blue, and large Geisha bows, and carried Killarney roses. The maid of honor, Miss Amy Burrill, was in blue chiffon with pink sash and carried yellow roses. Instead of hats, the attendants wore silver caps with small rosebuds.
Frank Clark acted as his brother's best man. The ushers were Allan A. Ryan, William A. Manning, Fred N. Cowperthwait, J. Julian Dick, André Jacobi, and Elwood P. McAneany.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the Saint Regis. The bride and bridegroom stood under a bower of palms and lillies in the Louis the XVI room and received the congratulations of their relatives and friends. A buffet supper was served in the marble ballroom. There were about 200 guests at the reception. [A list of the guests has been omitted here].
