Naugatuck, Conn., March 19.—Miss Dorothy Craig Barnum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Morton Barnum of Naugatuck, was married to Josiah Gillespie Venter of New Haven at the home of her parents today. The Rev. Edward R. Hance, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated. Attendants were Miss Elizabeth Barnum of Boston, sister of the bride, and DeForest Venter of New York, son of the bridegroom.
The bride is a graduate of Sweet Briar College and the New York School of Secretaries. She had been a member of the staff of Sterling Memorial Library, Yale University.
Mr. Venter attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He retired from the Navy after serving in aviation in France and England during the World War and joined the firm of DeForest & Hotchkiss Company of New Haven, of which he is now president. He is also president of the New Haven Reserve Supply Company and of the Northeastern Retail Lumbermen's Association.
Mrs. Ralph Waldo Christie, Mr. Venter's sister, and Commander Christie, U. S. N., of Washington, attended the wedding.
