The same dispensation provides the following information: Jose de Quintana, notary; Miguel de la Vega y Coca (22) espańol, witness. An impediment was brought by Clara de Cháves, wife of Juan de la Mora Pineda, and publicly known as the bastard dau. of Capt. don Fernado Durán y Cháves. She claimed that she had relations with the groom, which fact was known to his brother, Cristóbal Tafoya and to María de Herrera. Clara's mother (not named) testified that don Fernado impregnated her as a girl. The groom denied Clara's charges, as witnessed by Juan Varela (32).
