A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Middletown Times Herald, Middletown, New York, Wednesday, July 28, 1937: Barbara Barnum Engaged to Wed. Mr. And Mrs. Weston G. Barnum, 342 Philip street, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Barbara, to William H. Wickham, son of Mrs. T. A. Wickham, fifteen Jackson avenue. Miss Barnum is a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1934, and Conkling Business School. She is employed as stenographer at the Sweeney Bottling Works. Mr. Wickham, who graduated from Middletown High School in 1934, attended Delhi Agricultural School. He and his brother, Shelton, left Middletown a few weeks ago to take over a cattle business at Norwich. Plans have been made for the wedding next spring.
