From the Putnam County Republican, Carmel, NY, January 12, 1889: The wedding of Frederic S. Barnum and Miss Emma Raymond Foster, oldest daughter of the late F. E. Foster, was celebrated in the M. E. Church, Brewster, on Wednesday at 5 p.m. The best man was Dr. Strunk, of Brewster. Miss Clara Foster, sister of the bride was maid of honor and Miss Julia Roberts was bridesmaid. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's mother, which was attended by over one hundred of the relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The newly wedded couple took the 8 p.m. train for a bridal trip.
