A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From The Herald Statesman, Yonkers New York, Monday, December 29, 1958: Miss Shelley Barnum Mahannah, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris B. Mahannah of 21 Overlook Rd. in Hastings-on-Hudson was married on Saturday (December 27th) afternoon to Ensign Philip George Meynen, U.S.N.R. He is the son of Mrs. Frederick Grantham Meynen of Garden City, L.I., and the late Dr. Meynen. The ceremony was performed in St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in Hastings (Westchester County, NY). The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Mrs. Donald Mortimer as matron of honor. Mrs. Meynen was graduated from Colby Junior College in New London, N.H., and expects to be graduated from the Columbia University School of Occupational Therapy in January. Ensign Meynen was graduated from Manhattan College with the class of 1956 and received a master's degree in civil engineering from Lehigh University at Bethlehem, Pa. in 1958. The couple will live in San Diego, Calif., where Ensign Meynen is stationed.
