Brushvale was a village and farm community in section 31 of Nordick, named for Joseph Brush, on whose farm it was located. It had a post office, 1902-54, and a station of the Great Northern Railway. Brushvale is now an unincorporated community in Wilkin County, MN. It has an estimated population of 10. The only reminder that there is a place called Brushvale is a sign at the junction of U.S. Highway 75 and Wilkin County Road 3 that says "Brushvale" and an arrow pointing west.
A second marriage date (31 March 1970) has been questioned because of earlier marriage information and because their three children were born about 30 years earlier. However, the date is correct, as may be seen in the following entry. Perhaps it represents a renewal of marriage vows, since the surname of both parties is listed as Barnum.
