From the San Bernardino County Sun, California, Friday, December 27, 1940: More than usual beauty and impressiveness marked the ceremony in which Barbara Joan Ames, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Ames and James Kendrick Barnum, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harold Barnum, took the marriage pledge on Thursday evening (Dec. 26) at 8 o’clock with a large and interested company of relatives and friend filling the auditorium of the First Congregational Church.
