The 'Genealogical Record of the Barnum Family' refers to this person as both Phoebe and Phebe Bartram. That same source shows her as having Zadok, Silence and four unnamed daughters from her marriage to Abel Barnum. Another manuscript (prepared by Samuel Hendrick Pardee in 1852-53) shows all of those children as issue of the marriage of Abel to Ruth Bronson. They've been assigned in this genealogy based upon the available birth dates and the marriage dates of Abel and his three wives.
There is some confusion regarding the marriage of Phebe to Abel Barnum, since the date given would have placed them both in their late 80's at that time. There definitely was a Phebe Bartram who married an Abel Barnum in New Fairfield in 1792, as shown by New Fairfield church records, but perhaps they were not the two listed in this entry. It seems that the early compilers of Barnum genealogical records were somewhat confused on this point, and the most likely candidate for the husband of Phebe appears to be Abel Barnum (1764-1861), son of Eli. However, no document has yet been found to offer proof of that supposition.
