There is a listing for a Julia Culver (apparently a different person) who was from a family that had lived in the city of Rochester or the town of Brighton, Monroe Co. (originally Ontario County), NY since at least 1815. According to an abstract of title for certain property, Julia's father, John Culver, "died at Brighton, NY, August 22, 1870, leaving a widow, P. Celinda Culver, him surviving, and the following children, his only heirs at law: Nathaniel C. Culver, H. Grant Culver, Julia C. Barnum and Marvin A. Culver, all of full age...." In a later transaction, it says "P. Celinda Culver, the widow of [John Culver], died in the year 1884 in Rochester; Nathaniel C. Culver was never married; that Hiram Grant Culver was married at the time of execution of the conveyance...[Feb. 22, 1864], but that his wife died about two years after that." Marvin A. Culver's wife's name is given as Frances A. Culver. The Culver's interest in the property ends in 1895. This information was provided by Linda Nevin and is included to avoid future confusion with the same person.
