Ada's first husband was a Carter. She had two sons with him, Edward and Ernest. After she was widowed she married Charles Edwin Barnum. Her two sons were brought up by Charles and Ada and were close to their daughter Josephine, even to living in the same house in adulthood.
Ernest never married. Edward married Grace (Unknown) but had no children.
