A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
The Barnum Family, 1517-1904 mistakenly gives Milton a birth year of 1895. He was born May 24, 1899, according to his WWI draft registration card. A passenger list gives the same date with place of birth as New Haven, Connecticut.
From the Hartford Courant, May 23, 1936: New Haven, May 22. Milton Cady Barnum, 36, son of W.T. Barnum, a cousin of the famous circus man, died last night in St. Raphael's Hospital after an illness of three weeks. A native of New Haven, Barnum was a member of the class of '22 at Princeton University. For the last few years he managed W. T. Barnum and Company, electrotypers here.
N.B.: William Thomas Barnum and Phineas Taylor "P.T. " Barnum were second cousins once removed.
