Walter Lawrence Barnum, son of Samuel Horace Barnum and Susan Little was born October 1, 1885 in Durham, New Hampshire (WWI and WWII draft registration cards). He married Florence Dyer Webster, daughter of Edgar F. and Emma Goodwin Webster on June 30, 1914 at Waltham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts where she was born on September 10, 1884 (SSDI and Massachusetts Marriage Records). Walter and Florence Barnum were both teachers at the time of their marriage and eventually moved to Evanston, Cook County, Illinois where he continued teaching and later became Assistant Principal of Evanston High School. He died November 26, 1950 in Cook County, Illinois (Illinois Death Index). They had two children: Marion Elizabeth Barnum born March 27, 1915 in Evanston, Illinois (Cook County Births). She married Charles F. Ingersoll on June 26, 1937 in Cook County, Illinois (Cook County Marriages) and David Ritch Barnum born October 3, 1916 in Evanston, Illinois.
