From the Putnam County Courier, Carmel, NY, Friday, June 4, 1897: Death of Mrs. F. S. Barnum. Mrs. Emma Raymond Foster, wife of Frederic S. Barnum, formerly of this place, died at her home in White Plains, New York on Tuesday last (June 1st), aged 32 years and 12 days. Mrs. Barnum was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Augusta A. Foster of this place. In 1886, she graduated from Vassar College with high honors and in March 1889 she married Frederic S. Barnum, the well known lawyer and was his second wife. He, with the son LeRoy (sic Ray) Foster Barnum, survives her. She is also survived by her mother who resided with her; a brother Howard Foster cashier of the White Plains National Bank and one sister Miss Clara Foster who is now in Europe. ..Interment was in White Plains Cemetery.
