Notes for Frederick Ward BARNUM


Frederick Ward Barnum was the son of Eli C. Barnum and Eliza Ward. According to his W.W.I draft registration he was born September 9, 1879. His W.W.II registration under Fred Ward Barnum indicates the same date and his place of birth as Naugatuck, New Haven County, Connecticut.

According to Andrew Ward and his descendants, 1597-1910 by George K. Ward, Frederick Ward Barnum married Luella Cook of Sheffield, Massachusetts on May 10, 1905. According to the DAR Lineage Books, Volume 84, p. 21, #83055, Luella Cook Barnum was the daughter of George Roderick Cook and Ella Stewart.

Fred W. and Luella had twins, Harold Barnum and Hazel Barnum born November 1, 1906, in Connecticut. In 1910, the family was enumerated in Naugatuck Ward 1, New Haven County, Connecticut. In 1920, they were in Waterbury Ward 4, New Haven County, Connecticut. In 1930, they were in Sheffield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts and when Fred W. Barnum registered for the W.W.II draft, he was living in Housatonic, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
