Mayor of Lake Forest: 1870-1871, 1873-1874, 1879-1881. Residence, "Barnum House," 797 North Sheridan Road, which was originally built in 1859 but remodeled by Barnum in 1867.
His gravestone indicates a death date of June 1899, different from the official death record.
