Notes for George Paddock BARNUM


The Brewster Standard, Brewster, NY, February 11, 1965:
George P. Barnum, 82, of Drewville Rd., Brewster, New York died suddenly at his home on February 4, 1965. He was a farmer and a native of the Town of Southeast. Born July 24, 1888 [sic, s/b 1882], he was the son of the late Starr and Elizabeth Paddock Barnum. He is survived by his wife, Ella Grady Barnum, whom he married January 21, 1960, in Brewster. He is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Muckenhoupt, of Branford, Conn.; two stepchildren, Mrs. Harry Knapp of Bethel, Conn., and Mrs. Natalie Truesdale, of Danbury, Conn., a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Storm of Brewster, and a brother, Warren Barnum of Cold Spring, two nieces, Mrs. A. P. Wellman of Youngstown, Ohio; Ruth Storm Lodge of Beacon and a nephew, Fred W. Storm of Tarrytown also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, the Rev. Donald Hodges, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Milltown Rural Cemetery.
