A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
According to the book Beyond the Gates of the New Fairfield Cemetery, Willis Barnum was first buried in Wood Creek Cemetery in New Fairfield, Connecticut and some time after his death his remains were removed from there (due to the formation of Candlewood Lake) and he was reburied in Mountain View Cemetery. Oddly, there also exists a burial record for Willis at the Canaseraga Cemetery in Burns, Allegany, New York. That record reads: Barnum, Willis, Mar 25, 1805-Apr 16, 1883, Old Cemetery Section.
