John, son of Israel, received a free grant from the military, n. half of lot 23, con 8, Flos twp, Simcoe County on 19 July 1826. Although he was just 16, he had managed to serve in the Army. He gave his residence as Sidney Township, the same as his father's.

The marriage is found in the Registers of Saint Thomas Anglican Church, Belleville ON, (now at the Anglican Diocese of Ontario Archives, Kingston, ON).
This family resided in Rainham Township, Haldimand County, Ontario, Canada by 1851 and later moved to Mayville, Tuscola County, Michigan.
He was a blacksmith.
