A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
'The Barnum Family, 1517-1904' calls him Maleolm Barnum, an apparent typographical error.
Malcolm Jonathan Barnum, b. 22 Dec 1870, Brighton twp, Northumberland Cty, Ontario, single, says on his homestead papers #2700226, "that on account of the sickness and age of my parents, I have been unable to complete the last month of my residential duties. All but one month of my resident duties were completed on the homestead and all buildings and breakings were completed, which improvements were worth at the time I left at least two hundred dollars. I believe the buildings have since been stolen. He now resides at Keyes, Manitoba, and homestead given to nephew Phineus Taylor Barnum.
