From the History and Genealogy of the Cock, Cocks, Cox Family: Descended from James and Sarah Cock, of Killingworth upon Matinecock, in the Township of Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y., privately printed, 1914: Phebe was the daughter of Anthony Davis Cock and Mary Ann Rider: Phebe (Cocks) Barnum b. Cornwall, N. Y., 12.30.1838; d. Montclair, N. J., 11.9.1900; m. Washington, D. C, 10.16.1871, Ezra Boughton Barnum, b. Black Rock, N. Y., 2.27.1835; d. Washington, D C, 1.27.1890; son of Milo and Rebecca (Boughton) Barnum of Troy, N. Y. He was a Presbyterian and she a Friend and a teacher, also Secretary of W. C. A., having been one of the first secretaries of that organization, which preceded the Y. W. C. A. Issue (Barnum):
I: Anna Hartwell, b. 7/19/1872; unmarried. Residing 1912 at 416 West 22d Street, N. Y. City.
II: Rebecca Boughton, b. 9/27/1879; unmarried
III: Robert Ogden, b. 9/27/1881; d. 8/ 1882.
She was moved from the old Thomas Cock Cemetery and reburied.
