From The Otsego Farmer, February 27, 1920: The body of Curtis A. Barnum whose death occurred Thursday night of last week at Niagara Falls arrived in Cooperstown Monday and was laid to rest in Lakewood Cemetery. Mr. Barnum was born sixty-three years ago in this village the son of Abijah and Laura Pierce Barnum. In young manhood he married Anna E. Louden who survives him together with five children: Harry A. Barnum, Detroit; Mrs. Laura Ellsworth of Cooperstown and Charles, Frank and Cynthia Barnum of Detroit. Judge J. W. Barnum of Cherry Valley and L.M. Barnum of Cooperstown are cousins. Mr. Barnum was one of Cooperstown's most respected citizens and many of the older people will remember him. He moved away from here thirty years ago to Niagara Falls where he had since lived lately being employed as a watchman.
