A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the North Adams Transcript, Massachusetts, October 17, 1958: Mrs. Adele Lea (Bassette) Barnum, 88, a former Adams resident, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Geissler of Springfield. The widow of Charles Barnum she was born in Canada and had lived in Springfield for 41 years. Besides her daughter, she leaves two sons, Lester E. and Earl F., both of Springfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 o'clock at George St. Pierre & Sons Funeral home in Springfield. The Rev. W. Chester Jostrom of Hope Congregational Church of Springfield will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Street Cemetery in Adams.
