From the Lawrence Daily Eagle, Lawrence, Massachusetts: Jesse M. Barnum, Deceased Massachusetts Resident Had Relatives in Greene County. The funeral of Jesse M. Barnum, aged 52 years, formerly employed as an engineer at the Pacific Mills, who died May 24, 1926, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred J. Lundgrew, 233 Andover St., Lawrence, Massachusetts was held Wednesday afternoon. The deceased received internal injuries in a fall sustained by him while at work several years ago never completely recovering from the effects. He was highly esteemed among his fellow employees at the Pacific mills and also among his brother lodge members. He was affiliated with the Brotherhood of the Parker Street Church, Loyal Order of Moose, and Engineers Union. Members of the latter organizations together with representatives from the Pacific Mills, walked in procession at the funeral.
Ensign Geo. A. Farmer of the local Salvation Army Corps, together with 12 other members attended the funeral in a body. Ensign Farmer conducted services at the late home at 2 o'clock, and also presided over the committal services at the grave in Bellevue cemetery.
A sister, Mrs. George Rickard, a brother, Levi A. Barnum, and two nephews, Raymond Barnum and Olin Barnum, from Maplecrest, Greene Co., New York, were in attendance at the services.
