Barnum, William; Private, Company "G"; Residence,Berlin, Connecticut; Enlisted August 9, 1862; Mustered August 24, 1862; Captured at Plymouth, NC, April 20, 1864; Died in prison, Florence, SC, January 15, 1865.
Descendant Duane E. Howard says he was probably killed in the Civil War (Wisconsin). His brother Noah was in the 16th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry and did die as a result of wounds received in battle.
