James Whitney Barnum, son of Joseph Powers Barnum and Elizabeth Lemon, was enumerated in the 1910 Census in Frelinghuysen, Warren County, New Jersey with his wife Nora and their daughters Dorothy, age 3, and Martha, age 1-7/12, both born in New Jersey. In 1920, the family was enumerated in Oneonta, Otsego County, New York with daughters Martha, age 11, and Helen, age 9; Dorothy must have died some time before 1920. Nora Pilcher Barnum was born in Kentucky about 1868 as was her husband. In 1930, James and Nora and daughter Helen were enumerated in Oneonta, New York. It is unknown when James and Nora died.
