From the Daily Republican, Monongahela, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, December 11, 1918: Mrs. Sadie Anderson Barnum, wife of S. A. Barnum, died suddenly at her home on Saturday (December 7) night of heart failure. Mrs. Barnum had been in her usual health and her death came as a shock to the whole community. Mrs. Barnum was a woman of excellent character, of a charming disposition and loved by everyone. Her life was an incentive to good. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She had been a resident of California for more than twenty years.
Mrs. Barnum is survived by her husband and the following children: Ruth, Paul, Mrs. Wilbur Galbraith and (Hilda) Gail; also the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Powell of Duquesne; Mrs. Effie Haywood of this city; Mrs. Anna Sphar, Mrs. Belle Hogue and Miss Mary Anderson all of Roscoe, and William Anderson of Pittsburgh. The interment was in Monongahela Cemetery.
