During the Civil War, Noah K. Barnum served as a corporal in Company "G", Olmstead's 1st Georgia Infantry (CSA).
From the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, July 21, 1902: Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Barnum of 29 Halsey street, have just celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They were showered with congratulations and well wishes of friends from far and near. They have resided in Brooklyn for the past thirty-six years, and were among the first to settle in the Bedford section. They have lived at 29 Halsey street for twenty-two years. Both enjoy excellent health. Mr. Barnum, now in his 78th year, is vigorous and active, and is an esteemed and influential citizen.
From the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, April 5, 1913: Noah Knapp Barnum, a retired merchant and long a resident of Brooklyn, died yesterday of old age at his home 29 Halsey Street. He was an original member of the Nostrand Avenue ME Church. The interment will be at Danbury, Connecticut where Mr. Barnum was born December 24, 1825. In his early life he was a merchant at Savannah, Georgia coming north at the outbreak of Civil War. He leaves a son, Charles K., three grandchildren, Charles Leslie Barnum of New Brighton, Staten Island; Clifford S. Barnum of Flatbush and Miss Gertrude W. Barnum and two great-grandchildren.
