In the 1830 US Census for North Olmstead, Ohio appears the family of Harry F. Barnum with 1 female under 5, 1 female 20-30, 1 male under 5 and 1 male 15-20. According to the Pioneer History of Olmstead, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Henry, often called Harry Barnum, was in partnership with his brother John and Buell Peck in a sawmill and gristmill on the west branch of the Rocky River, in Cedar Valley. The mill was originally built by Lemuel Hoadley. Henry was born in Vergennes, Vermont and came to Ridgeville on horseback in 1818.
He was buried in the Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
