The Springfield Republican of July 25, 1933 reported the death of Frank P. Barnum, as follows: Frank P. Barnum, a well known resident of this town and a railroad man, who is widely known especially on the Berkshire division of the New Haven road, died early this morning at his home 59 Castle Hill Avenue. Mr. Barnum had been in poor health for the past few months and recently was stricken with paralysis and failed to rally from the attack. He had been employed here for the past 30 years as car inspector and last January was obliged to give up his work on account of poor health.
Previous to coming to Great Barrington, Mr. Barnum was located in Falls Village, Conn. where for several years he conducted a general store. He was 67 years old and was born in Salisbury, Conn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Barnum. He is survived by his widow; a son, Ellson F. (sic Frank Elson) Barnum of Brooklyn, NY and one brother, Hiram Barnum of Canaan, Connecticut.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
