A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
The 'Genealogical Record of the Barnum Family' identifies Seth as the son of Jesse Barnum (b. 10 Apr 1749). However, the Vital Records of Kent clearly show that Jesse died at the age of 7 years. No suitable candidate has yet been found to take his place as the father of Seth and patriarch of the six generations of Barnums descended from Seth.
