James Lyon Barnum was a bank manager. He had been a widower for more than 10 years when he married 62-year-old spinster Margaret Cameron. According to his death record, he was quite ill for the last 2-1/2 years of his life and needed a caregiver. Being a proper lady, Margaret required the sanctity of marriage before she would move into his house to take care of him. There is a Surrogate Court record for him dated 1919. That may possibly indicate the presence of a will.
