A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
In 1854 Ebenezer and Polly (Godding) Barnum settled in Fenton, Genessee County, Michigan, near the end of Long Lake (now known as Lake Fenton). Nearby Barnum Lake is named after Ebenezer. The couple joined the new Long Lake Methodist Church and two of their sons, T. P. Barnum and C. W. Barnum later became Methodist preachers.
