Charles Barnum Hanford (May 5, 1859 – October 16, 1926) was an American stage actor, known as one of the most popular American Shakespearean actors of his time. After an early career working with leading actors such as Edwin Booth, Thomas W. Keene, and Julia Marlowe, he established his own company and appeared often opposite his wife, the actress Mariella Twaddell Bear (stage name Marie Drofnah).
Hanford appeared in eighteen plays - mostly Shakespeare - at Macauley's Theatre between 1890 and 1913. Macauley's Theatre was the premier theatre in Louisville, Kentucky during the late 19th and early 20th century.
He was born May 5, 1859, in Sutter Creek, Amador, California.
