Phoebe Barnum, name also spelled Phebe/Febe, born 2 Oct 1857 Brighton twp, Northumberland County, Ontario. Little is known of her until 1873 when the following was found: George Findley, 19 years, of Harcourt, Ontario, b. USA, s/o Archibald & Genevieve Findley, farmer, & Phyebee Barnham 16 years, of Haliburton, Ontario, b. Canada, d/o Almond & Maria Barnham, marr. 30th October 1873, at Haliburton, by Rev. W Stevens - (reg. #011573 Ontario Archives).
1881 census, Peterborough Cty, Dysart twp, reel c13240, pg 17, #77. George Findley, 25, b. US, Irish desc. farmer; Febe Findley, 23, b. Ont, German desc; Beatrice 4, b. Ont; Alice 2, b. Ont.
There is no record of her in 1891 & 1901 Canadian census records, but George Findley appears in the homestead papers, number 86221a for NE 1/4 of section 46 in Ridgedale Sk. He claims that his wife lived with him until this past year (1908) when she died. 'The Barnum Family, 1350-1907' gives her birth date as 21 Oct 1857.
