Notes for Abram YARGER

From the Hastings Banner, 2 Nov 1927, Page 3, Col. 7: Obituary. Abram Yarger, son of Daniel and Margaret Yarger, was born at Ashland, Ohio, September 10, 1856, and departed this life October 24, 1927, at Pennock hospital after a brief illness of a week. He was married to Mary Barnum of Carlton Center August 18, 1878 who died April 11, 1897 and to this union were born three children, Mrs. Irma Francisco of Hastings, Mrs. Gladys Cummings of Nashville and Clyde W. Yarger of Dimondale, who with twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one brother, John of Houston, Texas, besides several nieces, nephews and a host of friends are left to mourn their loss. November 24, 1902 he was again united in marriage to Nettie Francisco who died Jan. 30th, 1925. Nearly all his life was spent in Barry county. He was a good father and kind friend, generous to all and ever ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.

His sufferings are over, sweet peace has come,
No pain or weariness now
Will ever disturb his quiet rest,
Or cloud his peaceful brow.
We'll miss him how much no one can tell,
What a sweet, blessed influence shone
From out his gentle and patient life
That gladdened all his home.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. Rev. Sharpe officiated. Burial was made at Riverside.
