From an unknown contemporary newspaper: Lyndonville - William A. BARNUM, 74, of 1600 N. Lyndonville Rd. died Friday night at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital, Albion, after a short illness. The Rev. Duane R. Hauser officiated at funeral services this afternoon from the Barnes-Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Burial was in Lynhaven Cemetery.
He was born in Volin, S. Dakota, April 9, 1900, the son of the late William H. and Anna Marie Smith Barnum. He was a barber in Lyndonville for 51 years and semi-retired in 1968. Mr. Barnum was past master of Yates Masonic Lodge and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lyndonville and an exempt member of the Lyndonville Fire Co.
Surviving are his widow, Alice Draper Barnum; a daughter, Miss Shirley Barnum of Rochester; one sister, Mrs. Earl Dunham (Dorothy) of Waterport; two brothers, Irving and Clifton both of Lyndonville; four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Newell Barnum and Mrs. Alton Barnum both of Yates Center, and Mrs. Lowell Barnum and Mrs. Vernon Barnum of Lyndonville; several nieces and nephews.
