A Private Daniel Camfield served with Captain Zenus Wheeler's company, Colonel John Ashley's Berkshire County Regiment, during the United States War of Independence. He enlisted 8 Jul, was discharged 15 Aug 1777, serving 39 days, during which time he marched to Fort Edward, New York. However, this probably was a younger Daniel Canfield (sic), age 80, living in Lenox, Berkshire County, who was listed as a "Revolutionary or military services" pensioner on 1 Jun 1840.
