She met Lloyd Miller in her teenage years during art classes in high school and the couple married July 18, 1943. After the family moved to Hillsboro, Oregon she worked for a rose grower and her love of flowers grew. She would bring home bundles of roses every night and fill her home with the sweet smell. Her husband and daughters always remember the sweet smell of the roses she loved so much. At her home she lovingly tended her rose garden, and with her landscaper husband, they made a paradise of their half acre yard with flowers and beautiful plantings.
She and her husband were active in her church while her daughters were young and she continued to praise the Lord all her life.
Her oil painting might have been her favorite medium; however her talent extended to watercolors, pastels, pen and ink, and calligraphy.
Her passion for the ocean beaches led to many fun filled trips with her family and friends. Many of the family's favorite paintings are of the ocean and beaches. Her paintings were displayed and sold in a coastal gallery.
Alice Ruth Miller went to meet Jesus January 15, 2008. Sister Effie Pollock and Brother Jim Murray preceded her. She is survived by her youngest brother, Jack Murray.
Her sweet smile and her loving touch will be forever missed by her family.
