From the Watertown Daily Times, October 19, 2010: Deer River, NY — Jessie M. Gamble, 86, of the Deer River Road, died suddenly Monday morning, October 18, 2010, at her home after being stricken. Mrs. Gamble was born in Carthage, NY on July 9, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Cozette Barnum Garrett. She attended elementary school in Croghan and was a 1941 graduate of Beaver Falls High School. She married Warren G. Gamble on June 6, 1942 at the Gamble home in Carthage with Rev. Pomeroy officiating. Together with her husband they operated Gamble Distributors, Inc. for many years in Carthage. She once held the positions of Secretary and Vice-president of the corporation. They retired in 1985 and have spent their winters in Florida, where their home is in Apollo Beach. She was a member of the Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Warren G. Gamble of Deer River, one son and his wife, Richard W. and Sheryl Gamble of Carthage; five grandchildren, Steven and Jeffery Gamble, Robin and Joshua Reed and Sarah Siegfried; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas L. Garrett of Carthage; and nieces and nephews. A daughter, Bonnie Lou Reed, died in June of 2004 and a brother, Francis D. Garrett, died previous. Burial will be in Swinburne Cemetery, Deer River.
