Adah M. Furness Barnum (18 Mar 1898 - 20 Dec 1982). Newspaper: Medina Daily Journal; Tues. 21 Dec. 1982 Surnames: Barnum, Carroll, Litchfield, Plummer, Rice. Lyndonville - Mrs. Adah F. Barnum, 84, of 11411 East Yates Center Road, died Monday evening at the Medina Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Barnum was born March 18, 1898, in Lyndonville, the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Plummer) Furness. She had lived in the Lyndonville area all of her life. She was a member of the Yates Baptist Church of Yates Center. She had worked through the years at various canning companies in Lyndonville, retiring in 1969. Her husband, Newell R. Barnum died in 1968.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joyce Carroll of Jeffersonville, Ind., Mrs. Lyman (Lynette) Rice of Albion, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Litchfield of Medina; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Vosler of Livonia, N.Y.; two nieces and two nephews.
There will be no prior calling hours. A service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are through the BarnesTuttle Inc., Funeral Home, 112 North Main St. Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Barnum’s name to either the Yates Baptist Church or to the Yates Community Library.
