From the Malone Farmer, Malone, NY, Wednesday, April 25th, 1928: Friends and relatives of Ward H. Barnum will regret to learn of his death on Monday, April 23rd at his home in Palm Harbor, Fla. This sad news was conveyed to relatives at North Bangor and vicinity in a telegram received by his nephew, R. E. Tarbell on Tuesday morning. The message stated that he had been ill but a short time and it was hoped that his illness would yield to treatment but heart failure was the immediate cause of his death and came as a great surprise to the immediate family as well as relatives here. W. H. Barnum was born at North Bangor and resided here until about fourteen years ago, when he and his family removed to Sutherland, Florida. He was in his 67th year. Surviving are his widow, formerly Lill G. Eldred, and five sons and a daughter, namely: Merle, Watts, Ruth, Joseph, Royal and Marcus, all of whom reside in Florida. The late Mrs. E.N. Tarbell was a sister of the deceased. Mr. Barnum was a member of the Masonic fraternity and always took an active part while he resided here and later in Florida. Another daughter June died soon after the family removed to Florida.
