A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Descendant Kary Ransom states, "I do believe that my great grandmother, Sophronia Kelley Stowell, loved Harriet Eliza Stowell dearly, as she used Harriet's mother’s surname as a middle name for several of her own children. Cynthia Jane Park Stowell, in her biographical sketch, mentioned that one of William's nieces tended to her and Sophronia during their pregnancies in 1857-58. I believe that was Harriet Eliza Stowell. She wasn't mentioned by name, possibly because Cynthia Jane Park Stowell was jealous of her. Cynthia always referred to Harriet as ‘William's other wife’."
