George Washington Stowell, son of Daniel Stowell and Louise Aldrich Barnum, both of New York, was born on June 1, 1845, in South Bend, Saint Joseph, Indiana, and died on March 17, 1927, in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California. He married, first, Nancy Jane Bybee, the daughter of Absolem Bybee and Nancy Walker, both of Kentucky, who was born on August 1, 1848, at Winter Quarters, Douglas, Nebraska, and died on May 21, 1939, in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah. They had eight children.
George married, second, as his plural wife, on June 3, 1885, in Logan, Cache, Utah, Sabrie Isolia Wilson, the daughter of Calvin Clinton Wilson of Illinois and Emeline Miller of Utah. They had nine children.
