The Troy Record, May 17, 1944: Edward D. Barnum, resident of Troy and Averill Park for many years died yesterday at his residence. He was born in Ashland but had lived here most of his life. Mr. Barnum was formerly employed for many years by Cluett, Peabody and Co., later by the Foster Piano Co. and then by the Miller Building Movers. The survivors are his wife the former Esther Rossman, two daughters Mrs. Cortland Johnson of Troy and Corp. Annetta Barnum of the WAC; two sons DeWitt E. Barnum of Troy and Chief Petty Officer Raymond L. Barnum of the Navy and four grandchildren Coxswain Willard L. Barnum of the Navy, and the Misses Gertrude E., Sarah E. and Evelyn Barnum of Troy. Burial Woodbine Cemetery, Sand Lake.
He was buried in Sand Lake Union Cemetery.
