A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
Although this person is shown as a son of Jay Abraham Barnum (1881-1951) and Lula Pearl Cheek (1890-1975), there exists confusion with another Richard Barnum needed.
1) Richard (nmi) Barnum, b. abt. 1915 in Missouri was enumerated in Sedalia, Missouri on 16 April 1940 as a single son of Jay A. Barnum living with his father and family.
2) Richard W. Barnum, b. abt. 1915 in Missouri was enumerated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 19 April 1940 as a single man boarding with the family of Vestal and Mildred Brock.
Since there are three days' difference between the two census enumerations, and Richard W. Barnum and Dorothy Frances Whitley were married in Philadelphia on 19 May, the two entries might represent the same person. However, further research is needed.
