From the Edmonds Sun, Edmond, OK, November 13, 2018: Norman Keith Barnum July 16, 1929 - November 08, 2018. With his wife by his side, Norman "Keith" Barnum of Oklahoma City, Okla., went to be with his Lord on Nov. 8, 2018, in Leonardtown, Md. He was born July 16, 1929, in Kingfisher, Okla., to the late James Roy and Emma Anna (Yoder) Barnum. Keith spent his early years in Enid, Okla., graduating from Enid High School in 1947. He attended Enid Business College and Phillips University before being inducted into the U.S. Army Dec. 4, 1950. The majority of his Army time was spent with the Headquarters & Service Co., 702d Armored Infantry Battalion before being honorably discharged Dec. 4, 1952.
In 1954, he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Pool, on the 17th of January. Keith and Betty had three sons, Mike Barnum, Dennis Barnum, and Mark Barnum before moving to Edmond, Okla. in 1963. After arriving in Edmond, they had a daughter Sheri (Barnum) Hartley. During his 50 plus years in Edmond and until retirement, he worked as an accountant for Robberson Steel Company, in Oklahoma City. After 54 years of life in Edmond, he moved into Lionwood Senior Living Center in Oklahoma City. In his time at the senior living center, Keith enjoyed "art time" where he painted to his heart's content and loved to share what he had done with his family. He also enjoyed playing Bingo.
Besides being preceded in death by his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Wilma Louise (Barnum) Maynard and husband Billy.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Ann Pool Barnum; son James Michael "Mike" Barnum and wife Karen of Marion, Ind.; son Dennis William Barnum of Huntington, Ind.; son Mark Alan Barnum and wife Beverly of Lexington Park, Md.; and daughter Sheri Kay Barnum Hartley and husband Shad of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Michael "Damon" Barnum and wife Mandy, Justin Earl Barnum, Kianna Jo (Annie) Montz and husband Jeremy, Chrissy Dawn Merritt and husband Sean, Elizabeth Kay Kennedy and husband Matt, Kenneth Alan Barnum, Melody Lee Hartley, Aubry Rose Hartley; and eight great-grandchildren, Marcus Dylan Barnum, Jason Bryant Barnum, Chealsie Marie Merritt, Michael "Solomon" Barnum, Micah Lynn Barnum, Paige Mikayla Montz, Kora Sue Montz, and Drew Edmond Davis.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018. The service will be held at First Baptist Church of Edmond, 1300 E 33rd St., Edmond OK 73013 with interment to follow at Oakland Knowles Cemetery in Crescent, OK.
